Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has not completely ruled out the return of Jack Wilshere to the club as he’s a free agent at the moment. England international Wilshere became a free agent at the start of last month after his contract with West Ham United was terminated.
Mikel Arteta was asked about Jack Wilshere and the possibility of him making a return to the Emirates Stadium. According to him, he rates Jack Wilshere highly having played with him during his playing career at Arsenal. Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta were part of the Arsenal team that won both the 2014 and the 2015 FA Cup title at the club.
On the possibility of handing Jack Wilshere, a contract as a free agent, Mikel Arteta told reporters that they are yet to consider the idea of the player returning to the club. Arteta was speaking in his pre-match presser ahead of the Europa League trip to Norway to face Molde. Arteta and his team would later make light work of Molde as they won 3-0 on Thursday night courtesy the goals from Nicholas Pepe, Reiss Nelson and substitute Folarin Balogun.
Jack Wilshere came through the youth teams at Arsenal and was part of the team that won the FA Youth Cup at the club. He broke into the Arsenal first team as a teenager but the England international was not able to fulfil his huge potentials due to various injury issues for him. He was released at the end of his Arsenal contract in 2018 afterthen Gunners boss Unai Emery replaced Arsene Wenger as the Arsenal manager.
Wilshere signed for West Ham United shortly after he left Arsenal. The Englishman went on to sign a three-year contract with the Hammers. The contract had one year to run on his West Ham United contract before the London club terminated it for the England midfielder to become a free agent.
